Release notes

BreakOff keeps moving.

The first version got BreakOff into the hands of skydivers. Every release since then has been about the real work: making Watch tracking calmer, logbook review faster, backup safer and the subscription experience clearer.

Current version

v1.1.2 is about trust.

Released as the latest stability hardening line on 12 July 2026. The visible app may look familiar, but the foundations underneath are stronger: sync payloads are safer, backups are more defensive, exports are less fragile and Watch logbook snapshots are better guarded.

Trial1 week free

Every subscription now includes a 1-week free trial where Apple reports eligibility. Try the Pro flow and cancel before renewal if it is not for you.

WatchCleaner jump start

One-tap Watch entry, clearer altimeter readiness, complication start support and less forced setup while you are trying to get ready.

LogbookFaster review

Search, quick filters, dropzone suggestions, selected-jump bulk edits and less launch pressure for larger logbooks.

SyncMore dependable backup

WatchConnectivity payload guards, safer CloudKit backup retries and protections against invalid legacy values blocking restore/export paths.

Feedback is part of the product loop.

BreakOff is actively shaped by dropzone use, tester reports and feature requests. If a workflow feels awkward, that is exactly the kind of thing we want to hear.

Timeline

What changed from v1.0.

This is the public version of the release history. It focuses on changes skydivers can feel: trial clarity, Watch reliability, logbook speed, GPS quality, export safety and feedback-driven workflow improvements.

v1.1.2 - Stability and sync hardening

Focused on the reliability layer that protects your logbook as BreakOff grows.

  • Safer Watch-to-iPhone sync payloads with invalid-number protection.
  • Adaptive GPS sampling for WatchConnectivity transfers while keeping full GPS data in the iPhone logbook.
  • More defensive backup, restore, import and export paths for legacy edge cases.
  • Better handling for profile edits, gear context sync and Apple Watch workout finishing.

v1.1.1 - Free trial clarity and launch reliability

Made the subscription flow clearer and reduced startup/sync pressure.

  • Added clear 1-week free trial wording and Start Free Trial purchase copy where StoreKit reports an introductory offer.
  • Improved Watch logbook restore after app delete/reinstall.
  • Reduced launch and resume pressure for larger logbooks and iCloud restore scenarios.
  • Kept Watch gear context immediate while deferring heavier full-logbook snapshot work.

v1.1 - Better Watch flow, logbook tools and GPS recovery

Moved BreakOff from launch build toward a sharper field-use app.

  • Added logbook search, quick filters, dropzone suggestion chips and selected-jump bulk metadata editing.
  • Added one-tap Watch complication support and manual Wind Brief access from Watch screens.
  • Improved Watch GPS buffering for freefall track recovery.
  • Added Firebase/Google Ads conversion measurement for app growth without changing logbook storage.

v1.0.2 - Watch sensor readiness and landing detection

Improved how the Watch handles real sensor behaviour.

  • Added explicit altimeter readiness states instead of treating every `0` reading as valid.
  • Prevented stale altitude from feeding automatic phase detection.
  • Improved landing detection using post-canopy stability instead of assuming a perfect return to calibrated 0 ft.

v1.0.1 - Early App Store feedback fixes

Cleaned up the first-user experience after the live launch.

  • New users can complete onboarding and save their first complete Apple Watch-tracked jump before subscribing.
  • Added offer-code redemption and hardened Pro entitlement restore handling.
  • Fixed Share Jump map exports, Save to Photos permission handling and clearer feet/metres selection.
  • Improved active gear deletion sync, landing-name sync and Own Gear / Rental wording.

v1.0 - Public App Store release

The first public BreakOff release.

  • Apple Watch skydive tracking across climb, freefall, canopy and landing.
  • iPhone digital logbook with maps, altitude profiles, statistics, notes and exports.
  • Gear, canopy and lineset jump-count tracking with iCloud/CloudKit sync and backup.
  • BreakOff Pro monthly and yearly subscriptions.
